CIMUN Sanitary Alert: Risk of photosensitivity reactions due to use of methotrexate

Description

CIMUN SANITARY ALERT: The Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) of the United Kingdom Government received a forensic report in 2023 of a case of a photosensitivity reaction in a patient taking methotrexate. This reaction was found to have contributed to the patient's death from secondary infection. Action is needed to protect patients taking methotrexate from serious adverse events.
