Genus Fidicinoides Boulard & Martinelli, 1996
Fidicinoides Boulard & Martinelli 1996: 44.
Type species. Fidicina picea Walker 1850: 81 (Mexico).
Diagnosis. Species of the genus Fidicinoides are characterized by short and narrow lateral metascutellar plates that do not reach the timbal covers, timbal covers that do not cover the timbal cavities completely so the timbals are exposed dorsolaterally, the head is not very prominent but noticeably wider than the mesonotum, and a wide and flattened cruciform elevation with the posterior arms smoothly transitioning laterally with lateral cruciform elevation (Boulard & Martinelli 1996; Santos et al. 2010).
