Description

This article presents characterization data that can be utilized as a guide to select high-performing antibodies for Protein PAT1 homolog 2 (PATL2), encoded by the PATL2 gene. Six commercial and custom-made antibodies were evaluated  in western blot and immunoprecipitation experiments using a standardized protocol that compares readouts in isogenic parental controls and knockout cell lines. A human PATL2 construct in the pcDNA3-1(+) vector (cloned at GenScript) was obtained to overexpress the protein. This study will be revisited, and immunofluorescence will be performed once additonal custom recombinant antibodies are available on commercial catalogs.

Thank you to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation for their support and nomination of this target as well as the Structural Genomics Consortium for coordinating this study.
