Integrating Artificial Intelligence in Academic Writing

Description

Abstract

Through the use of deductive axiomatic approach by Padua (2012), this paper has produced a theory on the integration of AI in academic writing. The theory posits that integrating artificial intelligence (AI) in academic writing offers numerous benefits but also presents certain limitations. The primary benefit lies in AI's ability to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the writing process. AI can automate routine tasks such as grammar checks, plagiarism detection, and citation formatting, thereby allowing researchers to focus on higher-level conceptual work. However, the integration of AI in academic writing is not without limitations. One major concern is the potential for over-reliance on AI. Ethical considerations regarding authorship and intellectual property arise when AI contributes significantly to the writing process. Ensuring transparency about AI's role and maintaining academic integrity are crucial. Furthermore, while AI integration can significantly enhance academic writing through efficiency and support it is essential to address its limitations to fully leverage its potential benefits and thus adopt a policy.
