Description

This article focuses on the representation of a teenage pregnancy pact in French film 17 Filles. The article interrogates the extent to which the deliberate plan to fall pregnant can be interpreted as a transgressive act and one of corporeal empowerment or whether, on the other hand, it is an act that is bound up in patriarchal expectations of womanhood and pronatalist ideology.
