Rhinosinusitis is a common condition in which the nasal passages and sinuses are inflamed. 1 in 8 people develop sinusitis each year. The following people may be affected: smoking, the elderly, air travel or other activities that involve changes in air pressure (e.g. scuba diving), swimming, asthma, allergies, dental disease or a weakened immune system.
