Description
The data are owned by the scClim project and linked to the paper: Monika Feldmann, Michael Blanc, Killian Brennan, Iris Thunherr, Patricio Velasquez, Olivia Martius, and Christoph Schär; European supercell thunderstorms - an underestimated current threat and an increasing future hazard.
This repository contains supercell track data of modelled supercell thunderstorms tracked by a supercell detection and tracking algorithm. Detected supercell thunderstorms from 2 European climate simulations (2011-2021 and 2085-2095) are stored as daily json files. Storm tracks from 16 selected localised case studies are only available for the current climate simulation. Tracked variables include time, position, area, mesocyclonic signature and several intensity variables (hourly for mesocyclonic data, 5 min for rain and hail data). An exhaustive description of the data structure is comprised in the files.
