Dynamics of island mass effect: multi-satellite binning package

Description

Matlab satellite binning software package to create custom level-3 multi-satellite products from level-2 satellite data previously projected onto the same latitude/longitude grid. The software package performs the following successive operations:

  • nudges each satellite sensor data to best agree with in situ underway data
  • removes outliers
  • bin all satellite data at a given binning frequency
  • propagate uncertainties to the merged products

Nudging coefficients and their associated uncertainties were computed using underway in situ optical data and HPLC data collected along the entire Tara Pacific transect (see Gorsky et al. 2019 and Lombard et al. 2023).
