Description
The Heartbeat and Temperature Monitoring System presented in this project represents a novel approach to healthcare technology, designed to provide real-time monitoring of vital signs for enhanced health management. This system combines state-of-the-art sensors, microcontroller technology, and user-friendly interfaces to offer a comprehensive solution for tracking and analyzing heart rate and body temperature. The project utilizes an Arduino ATmega328P microcontroller, a Pulse Sensor for heart rate monitoring, and a DS18B20 temperature sensor for accurate temperature measurement. The data collected is displayed on an LCD 16x2 screen for user convenience and can be transmitted to a mobile application via Bluetooth for remote monitoring and analysis. The system underwent rigorous testing, including subsystem tests for the sensor, microcontroller, and display units, as well as functionality tests to ensure compliance with predefined requirements.
Methods
The scope of this project aimed at utilizing XD-58C pulse sensor module for heartbeat measurement, a DS18B20 module sensor for body temperature measurement, Arduino Uno R3 and a 16x2 LCD display for real-time data visualization of which these components are interfaced with the Atmega328P microcontroller, with firmware and software development conducted in C++. The software incorporate algorithms for capturing and processing heartbeat and temperature data, enabling real-time display and user interaction on the LCD screen. The project encompass hardware integration, thorough testing and validation which aims to deliver a reliable and user-friendly monitoring system for healthcare applications, combining accuracy and ease of use.
