ABRIR x MEPS Open Science and Big-team Science Workshop
Description
These are materials presented during the online workshop titled “Open Science and Big-team Science Workshop”, jointly organised by ABRIR and the Malaysia Educational Psychology Society (MEPS) as part of the project Advancing Big-team Reproducible science through Increased Representation (ABRIR): Towards more diverse and inclusive open psychological sciences. The workshop was conducted on 15 August 2024 and was facilitated by Brendan CH'NG with the support of HUE Chi Yin on Zoom.
This workshop introduced the concepts of open science and big-team science practices. It included:

A brief history about the replication crisis in psychology and questionable research practices.

An overview of open science and big-team science principles.

A hands-on activity (or hackathon) focused on:

Identifying barriers to engaging in open science and big-team science

Developing solutions to encourage participation in these practices

Sharing ideas for potential research topics for future big-team science projects

The first spreadsheet contains the information on the people who participated in the hackathon or who had only registered to participate ((name, title, nationality, institution/organisation, status, ORCID ID, language, research interests).

The second spreadsheet lists the responses provided by participants during the hands-on activity.

The third spreadsheet lists ideas for collaborations and projects proposed by hackathon participants.
