Genus Gyropus Nitzsch, 1818: 302

Gyropus wernecki Emerson & Price, 1975: 31. Paratypes: 2 females; # 47,221; b.13.86; Note 17,702. Ex Proechimys semispinosus. Venezuela, Iaracuy, Urama; 12.xi.1965; no collector.

Remarks: The correct name for this host species is Proechimys guairae (see further discussion in Valim & Linardi, 2008).
