Description

Ancala africana (Griffith & Pidgeon, 1832)

Ancala africana is widely distributed through African countries, recorded from Angola, Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Republic of South Africa, Somalia, Sudan, Tanzania, Zaire, Uganda (Crosskey & Crosskey 1955). Ancala africana shows a high ability to transmit trypanosomiasis (Mulandane et al. 2020). It was recorded from Saudi Arabia (Müller et al. 2012a).
