Furthermore, due to the existing connection of the lakes, the expansion of the species to Lake Zazari is also expected. At present, lakes Vegoritida and Petron can potentially act as reserves for 'feeding' the other lakes with Pachychilon macedonicum. Finally, further studies on the current distribution, biology, and ecology of the species is required in order to facilitate its establishment in the new systems, with the concurrent protection of its habitats.
