Type material. Holotype: E India, Orissa state, Jaleswar env., 30 km NE of Balasore, bank of river, 13.ii.1994, Z. Kejval lgt. Holotype deposited in the (JHAC). Specimen of the presently described species are provided with a red, printed label with text as follows: „ HOLOTYPE Thorictus kejvali sp. n. Jiří Háva det. 2009”.

Description of holotype. Body small, dark brown, covered by very long, erected brownish setae on dorsal surfaces and decumbent on ventral surfaces. Measurements (mm): TL 2.30 PL 0.97 PW 1.15 EL 1.37 EW 1.20. Head (Fig. 1) finely punctate with long, brownish setae. Labial palpi entirely brown. Antennae brown, with 11 antennomeres, antennal club compact, with 3 antennomeres. Pronotum as finely punctate as head, covered by short brownish setation. Lateral margin of pronotum very finely dentate. Pronotum in posterior part near scutellum without bumps. Ventral posterior pronotal angles with long, golden-yellowish setation (Fig. 2). Scutellum not visible from above. Elytra very finely punctate, with long brownish setae. Each elytron in anterior part near scutellum without bump. Epipleuron finely punctate. Prosternum finely punctate. Mesosternum with foveolate punctures. Metasternum finely punctate. Visible abdominal sternites very finely punctate, covered by very long, brownish setae. Legs brown, covered by yellow setae.

Differential diagnosis. The new species belongs to the T. orientalis species group; according to the body form and dorsal setation it is very similar to T. heimi heimi but differs from it by the shape of the head and pronotal ventral setation; from Thorictus heimi wroughtoni it differs by the setation of dorsal surfaces, shape of the head and pronotal ventral setation.

Distribution. A sbspecies known from India: Wallon (Ahmadnagar, Maharashtra), new to Madhya Pradesh.
