Between order and disorder: an information-theoretic approach to linguistic complexity

Slides deck for the work presented at EuroSLA33 (the 33rd Conference of the European Second Language Association), held in Montpellier on 3rd-6th July 2024. The paper compares the behavior of different lexical complexity measures on real and synthetic texts to assess whether the measures are capturing Kolmogorov or Gell-Mann complexity.
