STORMS Checklist - Evaluating the Short- and Long-term Effects of Oral Antibiotics on Cutaneous Microbiota
Authors/Creators
Description
Human skin is home to millions of microorganisms that prevent pathogen invasion, prevent colonization by pathogenic bacteria, improve immune function, and prevent harm. Disruptions in the cutaneous microbiome may impact these functions. Despite the well-studied impact of antibiotics in other areas of the microbiome, the impact of antibiotic therapy on the cutaneous microbiome is not well understood.
