Experimental hydroacoustic studies in the Peter the Great Bay of the Sea of Japan (Review)

Description
The paper provides a brief overview of the actual state of the hydroacoustic studies in the Peter the Great Bay of the Sea of Japan. Special attention is paid to the complex research including both the low-frequency hydroacoustic experimental works accompanied by hydrological measurements and the determination of geoacoustic parameters of the bottom. When carrying out experimental hydroacoustic studies, the voice-frequency, frequency-modulated, and phase-shifted signals were used. The possibility in principal of solving the reverse seismoacoustic problems and estimating statistically underwater signals with the noise of the sea in the background using hydroacoustic low-frequency radiators has been demonstrated.
