Description

Abstract: Our comprehensive research on closed-box loudspeaker systems, which act as second-order high-pass filters, is innovative in understanding their low-frequency response. Two main system parameters, resonance frequency, and total damping, are explored in a novel way. The resonance frequency, the proportion of total damping contributed by electromagnetic coupling, and overall compliance all have quantitative relationships with the system's electroacoustic efficiency. Achieving a flat magnitude response, a key goal in this study is approached from a fresh perspective. We use these parameters to optimize the loudspeaker's low-frequency performance with WinISD speaker design software for Windows, a significant finding that will significantly benefit the field of audio technology. Furthermore, the impact of varying the compliance ratio on system performance is analyzed using MATLAB R2015a software, adding a new dimension to our understanding of system performance.
