A study of Activities for Development of Educational Management Competency Development Skills among Headmaster in Zilla Parishad Marathi Primary Schools of district of Dharashiv.

Abstract

 

In the present research paper, a detailed review of the activities implemented for the development of educational management ability skills among the principals of Zilla Parishad Marathi primary schools in Dharashiv district has been reviewed in detail. The present research is very important to introduce these educational management skills competencies to the newly aspiring headmaster The presented research highlights the basic knowledge of the concept of principal's educational management competence skills. This research will help Zilla Parishad Marathi primary school headmaster to understand the educational management role. The presented research is very useful for what activities should be implemented as a headmaster for how to have an ideal educational management.

Introduction

 

Indian educational tradition is considered very important, familiar and influential throughout the world. The tradition of education has changed according to time, according to time, according to need. In the journey from Guru-disciple education system to today's modern education system, the disciple i.e. the student has always been considered at the center. In today's new National Education Policy 2020, we can see that students are considered as the focal point. If we look at the graph of the progress of education today, the successful launch of 'Chandrayaan-3' can be seen before our eyes. The saying that education leads to overall development is true today. Today, modern education system is widely used. Its reputation has been greatly affected by the duration of the Covid-19 pandemic. Education of a student means not only teaching him but the biggest part of it is the school educational management and the task of setting up is on the headmaster of that school. Today our country of India has a large number of government schools but it is seen that there is inequality in the educational progress of all the government schools. The headmaster of the school is also responsible for this uneven oil somewhere. A school headmaster who is creative, adept at management is seen to be a sure success in the academic progress of the school. It is the need of the hour to develop educational management capacity development skills by the headmaster. Today, after 34 years, the new National Education Policy 2020 (NEP) has been launched in India. It also shows that special emphasis has been given on primary education. Therefore, this research is in the context of an initiative implemented to improve the quality of primary levels and to improve the educational management capacity development skills among the headmaster of primary schools in order to get the appropriate results of the educational policy implemented by the government.

 

Concept of Primary School Educational Management

Primary school educational management means planning of educational program at primary school level, planning of activities, planning of teachers' teaching, organization, planning of curriculum and completion of curriculum, planning of written examination and oral examination for assessment. This includes setting educational goals, managing curriculum development and implementation for students, creating an environment conducive to learning and making available the necessary resources. A very effective educational management in primary schools aims to provide an allinclusive environment for excellent learning and holistic development of students.

Importance of Research

Research of any subject is definitely important for the development of the country. The importance of this research can be said as follows.

Significance of the present research- 1) The said research will be used to bring about educational development, quality development of schools through management capacity.

2) The said research will be useful to the Headmaster to bring about the physical and educational development of the primary school. 3) The said research will be useful to the Headmaster for how to increase or do the educational management capacity development skills of a headmaster to make the overall development of the school. 4) The presented research will be useful for the education sector ministers, officials to get information about the initiative to increase the educational management capacity development skills of the headmaster regarding the implementation of the new national education policy. 5) The said research will give proper direction to Education Officers, Deputy Education Officers, Center Heads, headmaster and researchers to complete the research work in the field of education.

 

Objectives of the present Research

 1. To find out the current situation regarding the development of educational management skills among the principals of Zilla Parishad Marathi primary schools in Dharashiv district.

2. To find out the activities implemented related to educational management capacity skill development among the headmaster of Zilla Parishad Marathi primary schools in Dharashiv district.

3. To study the actual effect of the activities carried out related to the development of educational management ability skills among principals of Zilla Parishad Marathi primary schools in Dharashiv district, Nashik.

Hypotheses of the research

 1) Headmaster is the main body of the school and has the responsibility of guardianship of the school.

2) Headmaster has a key role in quality development.

 3) Headmaster is responsible for every matter in the school.

4) Headmaster plays a key role in the field including leadership, teacher evaluation, student discipline and many others.

5) A school Headmaster acts as a bridge between teachers, students, staff members, parents and community members.

 6) If the Headmaster has management skills, it helps in overall development.

Activities implemented for the development of educational management skills among Headmaster of Zilla Parishad Marathi primary schools in Dharashiv district

1. A Headmaster Training and Mentoring- Training for principals is provided through the School Department of Maharashtra Government in which school level officers and experienced principals train the principals of Zilla Parishad Marathi primary schools and guide them to develop educational management properly.

2. Leadership Development Programme- The headmaster is the leader of the whole school so the person leading needs to be versatile himself. For this the school department organizes training sessions for the principals along with workshops and conferences. It emphasizes on the leadership development of principals.

3. Conducting Workshops to Build Competence Skills in Principals- Workshops are conducted to achieve the educational goals while conducting the educational management of the school. Regular workshops on specific skills such as Human Resource Management and Curriculum Development are organized for Headmasters of Marathi Primary Schools in Dharashiv Zilla Parishad School.

4. Online Curriculum and Resources- Educational Management Regular online courses are planned at the school level for capacity building of principals in leadership development as well as guidance in providing resources to principals.

5. Synergy Headmaster Network- An initiative has been taken to connect the headmasters of Zilla Parishad Marathi primary schools in Dharashiv district with other experienced headmasters. Due to which constant contact with other experienced headmasters will help to solve the difficulties and problems arising in educational management. Carrying out this excellent quality initiative is seen to have a positive impact.

6. Reflective Practice Sessions for headmaster -Zilha Parishad conducts reflective practice sessions for headmasters of Marathi Primary Schools to develop educational management competency skills in them which encourages sharing of experiences and learning from the associate headmaster.

7. Partnership with other Educational Institutions-Zilla Parishad of Dharashiv district has partnered with technology based institutes, colleges, educational NGOs etc. to provide training and development opportunities to Marathi primary school principals.

8. Organization of Award for Principals- Principals of Zilla Parishad Marathi primary schools of Dharashiv district are selected and given the Adarsh Principals Award by selecting those who have developed educational management competence skills so that other principals will be encouraged and acquire the necessary educational management competence skills. The above activities are implemented to develop educational management skills among principals of Zilla Parishad Marathi primary schools in Dharashiv district.

Effectiveness of an initiative for educational management competency skill development for principals

1. Leadership development is seen in headmasters.

 2. Headmaster strives to meet the educational goals set by the School Department for Zilla Parishad Primary Schools.

3. It became easier for the headnaster to plan how the teachers should implement the teaching process from the point of view of developing the curriculum and curriculum for the students.

 4. The headmaster worked to create a conducive learning environment for the students as well as the teachers.

Conclusion

It is very important to have an excellent leadership as a principal in primary schools where Zilla Parishad schools are located in rural areas. A headmaster has an important task to fulfill the entire educational mission. For this, it is very important for the headmaster to develop the required competence skills. Since educational management is an important factor, the headmaster needs to develop competence skills in this regard and when these competence skills are developed, the educational goals set by the National Education Policy will be achieved.
