Description
Australian BioCommons is a national initiative funded to develop community-scale digital capacity, training and bioinformatics infrastructure to support Australia’s life scientists. We shared this information with European colleagues at the annual ELIXIR All-Hands meeting in 2024.
Resources available to support Australian genomics researchers include:
- Galaxy Australia's Genome Lab - A new user-friendly, web-based data analysis platform, (genome.usegalaxy.org.au)
- The Australian FGENESH++ Service - an automated genome annotation software pipeline for predicting eukaryotic genomes on command line or via Galaxy Australia, biocommons.org.au/fgenesh-plus-plus;
- The Australian Apollo Service: a web-based tool to perform collaborative manual curation and visualisation of genome annotations or sharing of genomic data, apollo-portal.genome.edu.au/
- The Australian BioCommons Leadership Share (ABLeS): provides access to computational resources and bioinformatics expertise for producing reference datasets, biocommons.org.au/ables
- WorkflowHub space - discover optimised and reusable workflows, workflowhub.eu/programmes/8/workflows
- The Australian Nextflow Seqera Service: manage and monitor bioinformatic pipelines across infrastructures and cloud providers of choice, biocommons.org.au/seqera-platform
- Australian Reference Genome Atlas - discover indexed genomic data of species relevant to Australia, arga.org.au
- ToolFinder - find 100’s of tools and containerised software easily, biocommons.org.au/tool-finder
- ENA Upload tool - Easily upload data to international repositories direct from Galaxy Australia platform, github.com/usegalaxy-eu/ena-upload-cli
- How-to Guides - get directions to run workflows on Galaxy Australia, australianbiocommons.github.io/how-to-guides
- Including the Vertebrate Genomes Project assembly workflow, https://github.com/AnnaSyme/wfs-VGP
- Bioinformatics training materials, infrastructure and events through the National Training Program, biocommons.org.au/webinars-workshops
