Educator's Guide | Human Rights Education through Arts, Culture and Creativity

Description

Education illuminates the past, validates the present, and anticipates the future. Consequently, the teaching of values and rights is indispensable, not merely an objective in itself. It is the critical responsibility of teachers, professors, and educators to instill citizenship and democratic values, thereby shaping the societies of tomorrow. However, many educators lack the requisite tools to effectively impart this knowledge and these skills, often discovering that traditional methods are insufficient in achieving the desired outcomes.

Recognizing this pedagogical deficiency, the EducArts! team has developed this guide. Central to this guide is the employment of active, participatory methodologies, along with the integration of art and creativity. These approaches personalize learning and enhance students' comprehension. In pilot experiences, students have engaged deeply with the project, forming personal connections with the content. This engagement has fostered a community-minded and global perspective on fundamental rights, emphasizing the respect and protection of all lives, transcending borders.
