This work presents an innovative didactic proposal for the teaching and learning of the ‘technology, objects and machines’ content, within the framework of the subject “Knowledge of the Natural Environment in Primary Education”. Didactic-technological projects have been designed, built and developed to simultaneously address cognitive, emotional and social skills in the classroom. The sample consisted of 542 students, from the Faculty of Education, enrolled in a Degree in Primary Education, during the 2013-2015 academic years. The methodology used has sought to foster meaningful learning of scientific and technological concepts by connecting these to quotidian life, where they really have meaning and functionality. Over 150 technology projects were designed and created, using recycled materials, representing the scientific, technological and social component of objects and machines of our everyday life, and that can be used with primary school students. Each of the models created has been complemented by an educational project framed within the scope of STS, with the aim of promoting the development of scientific vocation from an early age. The results of this experience have shown that such projects are excellent didactic methods for the teaching and learning of scientific concepts involved in the technology that encapsulated us. Through this type of techno-educational projects, students, who are future teachers, expand their knowledge and learn different strategies for teaching science and technology in the elementary school classroom, promoting the acquisition of scientific and technological literacy among young students.
