La carretera como vector para la interpretación del paisaje: experiencia con una aplicación de Realidad Aumentada en la cuenca hidrográfica del Nalón (Asturias, España)
Authors/Creators
Description
In coherence with the awareness-raising framework promoted by the European Landscape Convention, signed in Florence in 2000, this study exposes the capacity of the linear communication infrastructure to requalify a territory from the point of view of landscape quality, beyond key aspects such as accessibility and functionality. The way in which a road can enrich the perception, interpretation and enhancement of the landscape is analysed in a double sense: on the one hand, a completed civil works project contains designs and technical solutions with heritage value and aesthetic imprint. On the other hand, the infrastructure offers very varied perspectives on the attributes of the territory through which it runs. The middle and upper valley of the Nalón river, around the AS-117 regional road, is chosen as the study area, due to the succession of urban and industrial, rural and natural character within the same region. The research also seeks to transfer the results by conceiving an Augmented Reality application intended for commercial use.
