The Design Student Association "Etsidi-Design" as an Active Tool in the Participation of the Students

The rapid advancement of technology necessitates the redefinition of higher education. Modern students are adept at accessing information across various domains, prompting a shift in teaching and collaboration methods. The creative capacity they exhibit, combined with our expertise in art and art education, has fostered innovative learning and teaching approaches. Several years ago, our School of Engineering established an association named Etsidi-Design, which has successfully engaged hundreds of students in active, interdisciplinary projects. This association extends beyond design, encompassing engineering technology, culture, art, and other fields related to human behavior and interests. As educators, we have focused on fostering collaborative and horizontal learning through artistic projects, leveraging the resources of our School to encourage students to explore and integrate their curiosities.

The outcome of this collaboration is reflected in the active participation of students in class projects within the Degree in Engineering in Industrial Design and Product Development. Our educational approach emphasizes leveraging students' existing knowledge, thereby preparing them more effectively for their professional careers. Incorporating the principles of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics), our initiative aims to bridge the gap between artistic creativity and technical proficiency, enhancing the educational experience and professional readiness of our students.
