Description

In this guideline, we want to present recommendations for the sample handling, sampling, analysis, data interpretation and evaluation of ERMs developed within the MetrIAQ project for the emission test chamber procedure. The ERMs described in this guideline are either impregnated porous materials produced by BAM, or µ-capsules filled with VOC produced by Fraunhofer IMM. Different VOCs (i.e., n-hexane, toluene, 2-ethyl-1-hexanol and D-limonene) were used to produce the ERMs. The performance of the ERMs was extensively tested during development, in an internal validation and additionally with help of an inter-laboratory comparison. Feedback from the inter-laboratory comparison was particularly helpful to identify possible pitfalls.
