ÎNTRE REFUGIU ȘI DEPORTARE: BASARABENII SUB OCUPAȚIA SOVIETICĂ

Authors/Creators

Description

The annexation of the Romanian territories by the Soviet state in 1940 was
carried out deliberately through violence and terror against the peaceful population, without having the slightest justification in this sense. The real character of Soviet regime is crystallized in the
brutal attempt to officially accredit, even from the first days of the occupation, through violence,
the inevitability of terror on the population of the Romanian territories annexed by the USSR in
1940, as well as through the imposition of ideologies based on false desiderata. Thus, the conditioned phenomenon of the social-economic and humanitarian crisis of proportions, generated by
the brutal annexation by the USSR of Bessarabia, Northern Bucovina and Herța region, generated
the process of the refuge of the population from the Romanian territories occupied. The personal
tragedies, expressed through the pain and suffering experienced by the population forced to seek
refuge in such a hurry, out of fear for their lives and security and those close to them, were later
amplified by the terror events that followed, through the waves of deportations organized by the
Soviet regime
