Description

This repository contains a NEURON + Python model of striatal projection neurons (or SPNs) designed to simulate the interaction between GABAergic and glutamatergic synaptic inputs.

These simulations are part of the manuscript:

Zhai S., Otsuka S., Xu J., Clarke V. R. J., Tkatch T., Wokosin D., Xie Z., Tanimura A., Do H. T., Reidl C. T., Agarwal H. T., Ellis-Davies G. C. R., Silverman R. B., Contractor A. and Surmeier D. J.  Ca2+-dependent phosphodiesterase 1 regulates the plasticity of striatal spiny projection neuron glutamatergic synapses

The simulations run in the Jupyter Notebook environment. The readme file should contain all the relevant information necessary to reproduce the modelling figures in the manuscript.

Post analyses and final figure outputs were generated in R (4.3.1; The R Foundation for Statistical Computing http://www.R-project.org). The code to reproduce this part of the manuscript is in the folder 'R analysis'. Graphical output from the R code is in the form of svg files which were subsequently used to make the final version of the figures in Adobe Illustrator 28.5

The relevant figures from the ms is Figure 6
