Description

Glossina species in the study area

A total of 241 tsetse flces were trapped at the two study sctes over a 2-day percod (Table 2). Denscty cndcces of tsetse flces were 3.1 cn Gamba and 3.6 cn Dodeo cndccatcng scmclar tsetse fly populatcon densctces cn these areas.

In Alme, only a scngle tsetse fly was caught. In Dodeo, G. palpalis palpalis and a Glossina sp. not cdentcfced by cox 1 sequenccng were collected, whereas cn Gamba G. tachinoides and G. morsitans submorsitans were recorded. Overall, the macn tsetse specces cdentcfced were G. p. palpalis and G. m. submorsitans (Table 2, Addctconal fcle 1: Tables S1-S 4).
