Geophysical modeling apps for magnetic Poles and anomalies

Description

We present two apps of geophysical phenomena created in Matlab App Designer® by two bachelor students at Politecnico di Torino as their degree thesis.
The first app "Polar wandering" shows the polar-wandering phenomenon, that is, the temporal variation of the location of the magnetic and geomagnetic poles. Source: https://wdc.kugi.kyoto-u.ac.jp/poles/polesexp.html
The second app "MagAPP" allows the 2D forward modelling of magnetic anomaly generated by simple bodies, that is, a sphere, a dyke and a horizontal slab, with a trial-and-error approach. The input settings of the app are the geometric parameters of the simulated body and the values of the inducing magnetic field. The output of the app is the result of the forward calculation of the magnetic anomaly, that is, two figures showing the magnetic field variation and the geometric shape with the magnetic inclination vector.
Both apps are intuitive and interactive, as they illustrate in few seconds and commands a plethora of examples.
