The textile collection at the National Museum of Cambodia: What we can learn from the archives
Description
The poster focuses on the formation of the textile collection of the National Museum of Cambodia in the first half of the 20th century and its subsequent loss in the post-Khmer Rouge era. This poster shares key data, gathered as part of the TEX-KR project, about the different typologies of textiles acquired by the museum from the 1920s to the 1950s during the French Protectorate. Following a period of research at the National Museum in Phnom Penh in May 2022, this poster has been developed as a didactic document destined for the institution's research staff at the request of museum director Chhay Visoth. The poster has been translated into Khmer to be shared with the museum team.
