Description
Genus Pycnoderes Guérin-Menèville
Type species: Pycnoderes quadrimaculatus Guérin-Menèville, 1857:404. Monotypic.
Diagnosis. Species black and white, oval, or oblong in shape, with silvery spots on the hemelytra; pronotal disc greatly inflated; length of antennae about 3/4 of body length; hemelytra with a widely expanded and flattened embolium; and head, pronotum, and scutellum roughly punctate (Capriles 1969; Alayo 1974).
