Description

Ectemnostega (Ectemnostegella) tumidacephala (Hungerford, 1948)

Geographic distribution. Peru (Hungerford 1948), Bolivia (Roback & Nieser 1980), Chile (Nieser 1970c).

Distribution in Peru. Huánuco (Hungerford 1948).

Notes. Nieser (1970c) noted that the brachypterous female he recorded from Chile differed in several aspects from the single macropterous male upon which the species was described, but that he thought that they belonged to the same species. The Chilean record was subsequently ignored by Roback & Nieser (1980), who mentioned that the species would be known only from the Peruvian male holotype, while tentatively recording it from Bolivia based on three brachypterous females.
