Austrophthiracarus ridiculus Mahunka, 1982
Distribution: Neotropical.
Records in Mexico: Chiapas, Yucatan and State of Mexico.
Biogeographic province: Chiapas Highlands. Yucatan Peninsula. Transmexican Volcanic Belt.
Habitat: Litter and moss. Beside trail to ruins, 200 m a.s.l., dense lower Tropical Moist Forest, partially–decayed leaf litter with pieces of wood, moist.
