Description
We have taken the initiative of writing this white paper because we have noticed that more standardized and practical guidelines are currently needed for research groups investigating solid-state batteries (SSB). It has been observed that each group has its own unique test cells, procedures, and different levels of knowledge. New members often rely on the experience of senior group members and scattered information about procedures to avoid repeating mistakes.
We hope that this document will provide a valuable resource for research groups in this field, and look forward to contributing to the advancement of SSB research.
Compared to conventional Li-ion battery (LIB) technology, SSB presents unique challenge and requires a different approach in order to work effectively. We would like to summarize our knowledge, our best practices and the “dos” and “don’ts” which we have collected over the last decade within the SSB research field to advance research across research groups.
