We present the use of AI-assisted methods in the selection process of the biomedical research funding programme of "la Caixa" Foundation, highlighting their step by step implementation and the main aspects that have been taken into account in order to ensure a fair and transparent use of these tools, in addition to the areas that need further improvement in this direction.
