Description

Pre-workout drinks have become very popular throughout the years due to the claim that
pre-workout drinks enhance exercise and increase energy levels. However, many people are
unaware of the potential side effects these drinks may have on the body’s ability to return to its resting blood pressure and heart rate post-workout. The primary purpose of this systematic review was to assess the effects of pre-workout drinks on the body’s ability to return to its resting state post-workout. In this systematic review, numerous articles were analyzed such as peer-reviewed articles, randomized controlled trials, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses. Exclusion criteria consisted of articles that were not based in the US.
