The World of Janssonius : Using Linked Data to explore the network of a key actor in the creative industries of seventeenth century Amsterdam

Johannes Janssonius (1588-1664) was one of the most renowned cartographers and publishers of his time. He operated in a large network of relatives who were also active in the publishing and printing industry. This poster presents a pilot project in which we use Linked Data provided by ECARTICO and the STCN to explore this network. Combining resources offers new perspectives on the pivotal role of kinship and (more particularly) women in the seventeenth century Dutch publishing and printing industry.
