Datasheets for Digital Cultural Heritage Datasets

This poster introduces a datasheet template that has been adapted specifically to accompany cultural
heritage datasets. The template proposes, amongst others, to incorporate semi‐structured information
on the motivation and the selection criteria, the digitisation pipeline, data provenance, and version
information. It has been created by a Working Group set up within the Europeana Research Community
and the EuropeanaTech Community (pro.europeana.eu/project/datasheets‐for‐digital‐cultural‐heritage‐
working‐group). Given the rapid development of the field, the datasheet template is explicitly introduced
as a proposal: a first working version for gaining experience and to collect feedback. The group intends to
continue working on it.
