El presente articulo propone una mirada a la personal concepción de belleza desde la perspectiva del pensamiento budista y su aplicación en la valorización de los productos artesanales sustentada por el intelectual japonés Yanagi Sōetsu (1889-1961) Dicho intelectual edificó un aparato crítico basado en conceptos budistas en orden a encontrar la belleza en la artesanía popular reivindicando el carácter netamente oriental, y a la postre japonés de dichos artefactos. Asimismo abogó por una apreciación moral de la belleza residente en ellos. Su teorización de los conceptos myōkōnin (妙好人), jiriki (自力), tariki (他力) y chokkan (直観) y su discusión constituyen el tema central de este articulo.
Abstract (English)
This article proposes a look at the personal conception of beauty from the perspective of Buddhist thought and its application in the valorization of artisanal products supported by the Japanese intellectual Yanagi Sōetsu (1889-1961). Said intellectual built a critical apparatus based on Buddhist concepts In order to find beauty in popular crafts, claiming the purely oriental character, and at the end, Japanese, of these artifacts. He also advocated a moral appreciation of the beauty resident in them. His theorization of the concepts Myōkōnin (妙 妙), Jiriki (自力), Tariki (他力) and Chokkan (直観) and their discussion constitute the central theme of this article.
