Towards a Nuclear Clock Based on Th: Internal Conversion Rates for Th Ions

Description

Internal conversion rates from excited electronic states of singly and doubly ionized Th-229 are presented. The calculations are based on multi-configurational Dirac-Fock wave functions for the bound atomic electron. The results are required for a better understanding of the decay properties of the Th-229 clock transition in different materials and experimental setups.
