Description

The infographic illustrates that open access enables the public and scientists to freely access publications and thus research results. Although research is often funded by taxpayers' money, access to closed access remains subject to a fee. Even researchers only have indirect access via their institutions, which have to subscribe to the relevant journals. The infographic is also available in German: https://zenodo.org/records/10973225

We would be delighted if the infographic is reused, for example as a poster, postcard or puzzle.

Notes (English)

Version 1.0 of this graphic was created as part of the joint project "open-access.network 2" and funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (funding reference 16KUV014).
