Subspecies Eupleres goudotii subsp. major Lavauden 1929

Discussion: Gregory and Hellman (1939) followed Chenu and Desmarest (1852), and suggested placing Eupleres in a separate family; however, Pocock (1915 a), Albignac (1973, 1974), Petter (1974), Coetzee (1977 b), and Wozencraft (1989 b) included it in Viverridae. See comments under family for its inclusion here.
