Cebus capucinus (Linnaeus 1758)

[Simia] capucina Linnaeus 1758, Syst. Nat., 10th ed., Vol. 1: 29.

Type Locality: N Colombia.

Vernacular Names: White-headed Capuchin.

Synonyms: Cebus albulus Pusch 1942; Cebus curtus Bangs 1905; Cebus hypoleucus É. Geoffroy 1812; Cebus imitator Thomas 1903; Cebus limitaneus Hollister 1914; Cebus nigripectus Elliot 1909.

Distribution: W Ecuador to Honduras.

Conservation: CITES – Appendix II; IUCN – Vulnerable as C. c. curtus, otherwise Lower Risk (lc).

Discussion: C. capucinus species group.
