Type Locality: Madagascar.
Vernacular Names: Eastern Rufous Mouse Lemur.
Synonyms: Microcebus smithii Gray 1842.
Distribution: E and N Madagascar.
Conservation: CITES – Appendix I; U.S. ESA – Endangered; IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Discussion: Separated from murinus by Petter et al. (1977:30).
