Type Locality: Ecuador, Los Rios, Babahoyo.

Vernacular Names: Equatorial Dog-faced Bat.

Distribution: Ecuador.

Conservation: IUCN 2003 and IUCN / SSC Action Plan (2001) – Vulnerable.

Discussion: Subgenus Cabreramops. Placed in its own genus (Cabreramops) by Ibáñez (1980).
