Type Locality: Near Belgrano, Prov. Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Vernacular Names: Antarctic Minke Whale.

Synonyms: Balaenoptera huttoni Gray 1874.

Distribution: Polar to tropical waters in the southern hemisphere.

Conservation: CITES – Appendix I; IUCN – Lower Risk (cd).
