Pipistrellus (Pipistrellus) westralis Koopman 1984, Am. Mus. Novit., 2778: 13.

Type Locality: Australia, Western Australia, Cape Bossut, 18°40'S, 121°30'E.

Vernacular Names: Koopman's Pipistrelle.

Distribution: N Australia from Kimberly to E Gulf of Carpentaria.

Conservation: IUCN 2003 and IUCN / SSC Action Plan (2001) – Lower Risk (lc).

Discussion: Subgenus Pipistrellus. Included in tenuis by Koopman (1984 c, 1993, 1994), but see Kitchener et al. (1986).
