Type Locality: Nicaragua, Chinandega, Realejo.

Synonyms: Centurio senex subsp. flavogularis Lichtenstein and Peters 1854; Centurio senex subsp. mexicanus Saussure 1860; Centurio senex subsp. mcmurtrii H. Allen 1861; Centurio senex subsp. minor Ward 1891.
