Macrophyllum macrophyllum (Schinz 1821)

[Phyllostoma] macrophyllum Schinz 1821, Das Thierreich, 1: 163.

Type Locality: Brazil, Bahia, Río Mucuri.

Vernacular Names: Long-legged Bat.

Synonyms: Macrophyllum neuwiedii Gervais 1855; Macrophyllum nieuwiedii Gray 1838.

Distribution: Tabasco (Mexico) south to Peru, Bolivia, SE Brazil, Paraguay, and NE Argentina.

Conservation: IUCN 2003 and IUCN / SSC Action Plan (2001) – Lower Risk (lc).
