Type Locality: Ecuador, Pichincha Prov., Mt Pichincha, Hacienda Garzón, 10,500 ft (3200 m).
Vernacular Names: Rhoads's Thomasomys.
Synonyms: Thomasomys fumeus Anthony 1924.
Distribution: Andes of NC Ecuador.
Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Discussion: Need to confirm junior status of fumeus urged by Voss (2003).
